Vancouver Street Portrait Photography

Vancouver street portrait photography

Occasionally it’s rewarding to take the indoor studio portrait photography experience into the outdoors. SmallFish Media just finished a Vancouver street portrait photography session, which allowed us to explore natural lighting and unique backdrops. For this occasion it was a model test shoot with Olivia at Granville Island, working around the many colourful buildings.

Vancouver street portrait photography offers a dynamic and interactive experience as you work with altering lighting conditions and search out weathered buildings, faded painted walls or even graffiti. The photos in these situations always offer a variety of final choices as you can cover a lot of ground for a one hour shoot.

For this session we used the Fujifilm X-T5 with an 85 mm equivalent lens. Some of the light was bounced with a reflector when needed. A common collapsible circular reflector is great for these occasions and easy to carry around.

Now summer’s here, the longer days allow for hours of good afternoon shooting light, so come try a street photos session with us and explore the natural habitat. We have extensive knowledge of the city’s many colours to match your eyes, wardrobe and vibe. SmallFish Media specializes in all kinds of portrait photography and videography for clients throughout Greater Vancouver area.
